What is Social Commerce?

In a world where B2B and B2C customers are in control of the business relationship, communicators need to know their customers better than ever in order to deliver customer value and boost ROI. Social Commerce is the practice of understanding the behavior of the empowered customer to narrow the gap to conversion with an eye towards proving return on investment.

The CSC

The Center for Social Commerce was formed in 2012 as a partnership between W2O Group, an integrated communications firm, and Syracuse University’s S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, a leading academic institution for public relations/communications. The CSC was made possible by W2O Group and its CEO/founder Jim Weiss, a Syracuse alumnus, and is aimed at ensuring students are immersed and educated in social commerce, social media, technology, analytics and the influence they each play on our society and industry, providing them with cutting-edge skills and insight that will enable them to stand out amongst their peers as they enter the workforce.
